On the morning of March 31, Changying-8, China’s first seven-tonne fixed-wing delivery unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), successfully completed its maiden flight at Shangjie Airport in Zhengzhou.
Independently developed by Beijing North Changying UAV Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of North Corporation under the China North Industries Group (Norinco), this delivery UAV is the country’s first seven-tonne unmanned delivery platform validated through physical testing. Dubbed the “heavy-duty truck,” it fills a gap in China’s seven-tonne class cargo UAV sector, marking a key autonomous technological breakthrough in the field of high-end intelligent aviation logistics equipment.
